I feel alive, even though I know this fire burns me dead,
I feel alive, even though I know it feeds off my regret.
Diminish the struggle of my never ending self-destructive fears and sickening strives,
This intrusive self-distrust exterminates my sense of self.
Uncertainty, the equilibrium of despair and uneven distress,
Falling in line with the frustration of life’s urge for misery. Life’s urge for misery.
Self inflicted torment, follows me to the grave.
It cuts my throat, It burns my wounds.
I have become an anguished tyrant to myself.
Release me from shame.
Release me from pain.
How can oneself survive the ache that crawls within?
How can oneself hate to the point of endless regret?
Self inflicted torment, follows me to the grave.
It cuts my throat, It burns my wounds.
I have become an anguished tyrant to myself.
I feel alive.
Relieve my urge and end my misery.
Relieve my urge and end my misery.
Relieve my urge and end my misery.
My misery.

Before Ashen, I thought they were overrated. Deathcore bands seem to have a capacity to evolve quickly. I’ve seen quite a few bands in this genre grow exponentially from one album to the next, and Ashen is a particularly strong example. Metallurgical Fire
First WTF was google music actually throwing something good into my feed.
Second WTF was everything every goddamn member of this band does. This and the previous album have been on repeat for weeks. All other music tastes like diet water. Help. Gruso
Archspire is wholly unique for their ability to write music that is this insanely technical, but also actually catchy and memorable. Absolutely one-of-a-kind band. Kadin Wisniewski
Midwestern prog-metal stalwarts go for the throat on their new EP, featuring a roiling cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' “1979.” Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2019
I am more a melodeath guy than deathcore, but I enjoy all the symphonic elements or rythym changes. This album is a BLAST omg my neck hurt, so much headbang🤘🤘 olive855
